The Project Development Manager (PDM) is responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and securing Protective & Marine projects, particularly in the early stages of a project's design phase. This involves building relationships with asset owners, specifiers, and general contractors to advance the company's specification position and overseeing projects until they are transitioned to the selling organization. The role also includes proactive development of specifications and related activities with asset owners and specifiers, even when no projects are in the design phase, by engaging and influencing key decision-makers. Additionally, the PDM provides training and guidance to Protective & Marines Sales Representatives and customers on relevant coating solutions. Project Development Managers can be either multi-segment, serving various market segments in an assigned geography, or specialized, focusing on specific market segments (Marine, Mining, Pharma, Oil & Gas, Bridge & Highway) or technologies (Fire Protection, Resinous Flooring). A high degree of domain knowledge in the relevant market and products is essential for effectively positioning value internally and externally.
