About The Position

Supports management of programs to ensure they are executed as planned and that customer and regulatory requirements are met. This role involves managing programs from conception through completion, ensuring all internal, customer, and regulatory requirements are satisfied. The engineer will provide support to project management to ensure project goals and deliverables are met, and will also support or manage project budgets. A key aspect of the role is serving as a technical interface between the external supply base, program development leaders, and Mechanical Design & Process Engineering to achieve defined technology objectives. Effective communication with customers and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle is essential, as is participating in product verification and validation activities, and providing training and installation support to customers and end-users. The position requires ensuring all technical documentation complies with TPG’s Change Control procedure and Configuration Management processes, and proactively supporting changes in project scope, identifying risks, and developing contingency and risk mitigation plans. Collaboration with other engineering functions within TPG is expected to aid in project/product transitions. The role also involves supporting the quoting and proposal process by providing technical information, NRE, travel, labor, and special testing costs, and participating in Contract Review, Contract Kick-Off, and various audits (USG, Customer, Third-Party).

Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents.
  • Familiarity with the GD&T system and its standards/specifications.
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant software (e.g., MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD).
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to operate under pressure.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work well in diverse groups.
  • Excellent organizational, technical, and communication (oral and written) skills in the English language.

  • Ability to maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Compliance with all personnel policies.
  • Must be a U.S. person within the meaning of ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Temporary Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).
  • Eligibility for a government security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Catia V5 is a plus.
  • Hands-on engineering environment, preferably in composites.
  • Experience should include drafting and submitting program/proposal documentation and developing and managing schedules.
  • Experience should include project engineering, program management and budget development or planning.

Responsibilities
