About The Position

The role involves advising on all aspects of project development and finance across the energy, infrastructure, natural resources, and transport sectors. This includes work on project and financing documentation, public-private partnerships, multi-source financings, risk allocation, and regulatory matters. The firm acts for sponsors, lenders, governments, contractors, and investors on greenfield and brownfield projects worldwide, with a focus on projects supporting the energy transition. The role requires collaboration with colleagues in construction, environmental, tax, regulatory, and disputes practices to provide integrated advice from project development through financing and delivery, assisting clients in managing complexity and delivering projects across multiple jurisdictions. The Houston office of Clifford Chance is seeking finance-focused attorneys with specific experience in US project financing of energy and infrastructure projects, Holdco financing, and US tax equity financings of energy and energy transition projects. Experience with construction to back-leverage financing and other financing structures involving tax equity/tax credits is a plus.

Requirements

  • At least six years of experience focused on US project financing of energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with Holdco financing of energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with US tax equity financings of energy and energy transition projects.
  • At least six years of experience negotiating credit agreements and collateral documents for energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Admission to the Texas bar is required.

  • Experience with construction to back-leverage financing.
