About The Position

This position is responsible for supporting Directors/Sr Managers, Managers, Project Managers and/or departmental peers by performing project cost control. The role owns a series of key complex processes and plays a key role in project, project portfolio, and process improvement initiatives. The analyst will work with the project team to resolve issues related to cost as they arise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business-related field or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 2 - 4 years of professional experience (for Analyst II).
  • At least 4 - 6 years of professional experience (for Analyst III).
  • At least 6 years of professional experience (for Analyst Sr).
  • Analytical skill set with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Extensive experience developing complex estimates using a variety of tools.
  • High degree of computer literacy including advanced knowledge of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and the remainder of the MS Office suite.
  • Broad knowledge of and experience with Entergy’s accounting and transaction processing systems and be able to interface with accounting and finance staff regarding accounting treatment.
  • Authorization to work in the United States is a precondition to employment in this position. Entergy will not sponsor candidates for work visas for this position.

  • Project Cost Accounting experience.
  • Experience working in a matrix organization.
  • Five years of financial planning experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Power BI.
  • Skills and experience in querying data from the COGNOS database and other Entergy data sources.
  • AACEI Certified Cost Technician.

Responsibilities

  • Performs analysis, creates estimates, and delivers accurate forecasts related to projects in all stages of development or execution for Capital Projects.
  • Creates and maintains financial and business models.
  • Compiles performance information related to project cost and prepares reports.
  • Provides analytical expertise to support project and portfolio management.
  • Builds and maintains cost models and performs numerical analysis based on different scenarios for projects or portfolios of projects as requested from management.
  • Prepares project/program/enterprise status reports.
  • Prepares cash flow estimates in support of monthly present estimate processes.
  • Analyzes cost and schedule impacts of project scope changes and trends.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations of numerical analysis.
  • Interfaces with project team(s) as necessary for cost control monitoring, analysis and reporting.
  • Provides day-to-day detailed monitoring and analysis of project budgets and actuals.
  • Updates and maintains project budgets and cost information.
  • Provides accurate financial, cost reporting, trending analysis and recommends corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintains cost and resource databases and reports.
  • Identifies need for cost analysis support for projects and recommends development or modification of cost engineering data standards.
  • Formats data for cost analysis and maintains historical cost database.
  • Prepare estimates of future project costs or forecasts.
  • Participates as member of project/program audits and prepares internal corrective action plans.
  • Advises invoice verifier team on complex invoice issues.
  • Assists with Regulatory Reporting, ad hoc requests, and responses to Requests for Information (RFIs).
