About The Position

A Project Coordinator supports the successful planning, execution, and completion of projects by assisting the Project Manager and project team with various tasks. Generally working under direct supervision of a Project Manager, they are instrumental in maintaining project organization, communication, and resource allocation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience required.
  • Two or more years of project coordination, program support, business operations, or analyst experience — banking, financial services, or another regulated industry required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and competing deadlines with a high degree of accuracy required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills; comfortable building executive-ready materials required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
  • Detail-oriented with sound documentation discipline and follow-through.
  • Able to work onsite in San Diego, CA in accordance with Axos policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with project or product management tooling (Aha!, Jira, Asana, Smartsheet, or similar) preferred.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Tableau, and Workday preferred.
  • Prior exposure to deposit products, small business banking, or private/premier banking preferred.
  • Experience supporting audit, compliance, or vendor-management processes.
  • Interest in process automation and AI-enabled workflow tooling preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the program portfolio tracker and Aha! records for all SBB and Premier initiatives, including status, milestones, owners, dependencies, and risks.
  • Coordinate recurring program meetings — agendas, materials, minutes, and action-item follow-through to closure.
  • Serve as the intake point for cross-functional requests from Legal, Compliance, Procurement, Marketing, and Data Analytics; triage, route, and track to resolution.
  • Support execution of rate changes and promotional offers across both deposit verticals, including tracking, validation, and payout reconciliation.
  • Compile partner and referral program reporting for third-party relationships (e.g., Square, SoFi, Gusto, Lendio).
  • Prepare Monthly Business Review materials and executive reporting inputs, including data pulls from Tableau and Salesforce.
  • Assist with vendor invoice processing, purchase-order tracking, and procurement documentation for the program portfolio.
  • Conduct competitor and market benchmarking research to support product and pricing discussions.
  • Document recurring processes into runbooks and maintain the program documentation repository in audit-ready condition.
  • Support platform and decommission initiatives with scheduling, issue logging, testing coordination, and status communication.
