About The Position

The Project Coordinator (Material Control) coordinates procurement of mass-production and prototype raw materials for the wire harness business while balancing physical inventory and preventing production line shutdowns. The role facilitates assigned programs through launch stages, follows new-model vehicles, and places prototype orders for trials and mass-production startups. It maintains and reduces budgeted days of inventory (DOI) and potential obsolescence, and communicates component implementation dates to the Design section so new components can be introduced and old components phased out. The position serves as a liaison among OEM customers, division program management, procurement, engineering, production planning, material control, and other internal departments. It facilitates OEM production phases, including tool trials, pre-production, and mass production, and prepares raw material using IPS bill-of-material simulations ahead of saleable prototype events. The role may require travel to manufacturing sites, domestically and internationally, to support communication and streamline production phases.
