About The Position

TRC Advanced Energy (TRC) is a nationally known energy efficiency consultancy. TRC is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Project Associate to support energy efficiency projects and initiatives, with a focus on the commercial and agricultural sectors in this full-time, entry-level role, the Project Associate will conduct energy audits, perform energy savings calculations, analyze data, and support the development of project recommendations. This position offers the opportunity to build technical and analytical expertise through hands-on work in energy efficiency project evaluation, technical reporting, and process automation. Ideal candidates will be resourceful, adaptable, and team-oriented professionals with strong communication and time management skills. Related experience in the industrial sector is a plus. Travel up to 25% may be required. Candidates must be able to travel to Pacific Gas and Electric service territory on short notice. California residency is preferred.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, energy management, environmental science, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with solid time management, organizational abilities, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
• Demonstrated technical aptitude and interest in energy efficiency, data analysis, and process improvement.
• Basic understanding of energy efficiency principles and energy savings calculations.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Team-oriented, adaptable, hands-on, and able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Verifiable work history.
• Reliable home internet service.
• Ability to set up a home office using company-provided equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Related experience in the industrial sector is a plus.
• Internship, academic project, co-op, professional experience related to energy audits, data analysis, or process automation.
• Experience using advanced Excel functions, macros, or other tools to improve reporting and workflow efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Conduct energy audits to identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements, with a focus on the agriculture and food processing sectors.
• Perform energy savings calculations and analyze data to support project recommendations.
• Develop and generate macros to automate processes and improve efficiency in data analysis and reporting.
• Assist in preparing detailed reports and presentations summarizing audit findings and savings calculations.
• Support process optimization and automation initiatives to enhance project execution and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project implementation and execution.
• Provide quality assurance for energy audit deliverables to ensure accuracy and alignment with program standards.
• Organize and maintain project files to ensure accessibility and efficient operations.
• Assist with creating timelines, milestones, and deliverables to track progress and support efficient project execution.
• Provide general administrative support to ensure smooth project and program operations.
• Support quarterly actuals and forecast planning for TSB and TRC to ensure alignment with budget targets.
