About The Position

As Project Coordinator, Technology Services, reporting to the Program Manager, ConnectTO, you will support initiatives that advance digital equity and enhance the public Wi-Fi experience across City of Toronto community spaces. ConnectTO is a Council-directed initiative that aims to improve digital connectivity for all by providing public Wi-Fi in City of Toronto community spaces, reinforcing the City’s commitment to equity, inclusion, and improved access to digital tools and services. Working with City divisions and community partners, you will help strengthen signage, activation, and engagement at public Wi-Fi sites while using research and data to support informed program decisions. You will also contribute to briefings, updates, and program materials for senior leadership and Council, linking implementation progress to KPIs, outcomes, and Council direction. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a high-impact digital equity initiative and turn public Wi-Fi infrastructure into a more accessible, welcoming, and user-friendly City service. We are seeking a resourceful and collaborative professional who is comfortable working with diverse stakeholders, translating research and data into practical recommendations, building awareness and support for program initiatives, and bringing people together to advance shared goals. Experience working with technology-related initiatives is considered an asset; however, technical IT expertise is not required.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in communications, public policy, social sciences, community development, business administration, or a related discipline pertinent to the job function, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Considerable experience coordinating and facilitating projects involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and tight timelines.
• Considerable experience conducting research, analyzing qualitative and quantitative information, and preparing reports, findings, recommendations, and other documentation to support decision-making.
• Experience coordinating meetings, consultations, workshops, and/or engagement activities, including preparing agendas, documenting outcomes, and tracking follow-up actions.
• Considerable experience writing and proofreading reports, briefing materials, presentations, correspondence, and communications for a variety of audiences, including senior leadership, elected officials, stakeholders, and the public.
• Experience building and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support project implementation, service improvements, stakeholder engagement, and organizational objectives.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret research and operational information to support evidence-informed decisions.
• Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts and build support among diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of equity, accessibility, inclusion, and community engagement principles, and the ability to apply them in program planning, service improvements, and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other collaboration platforms to support documentation, reporting, and coordination activities.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and proactively, with a high degree of initiative and adaptability to support evolving program needs and priorities.
• Must be willing and able to travel to various work locations within the City of Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area, and to transport work-related materials or equipment as required.
• Ability to work weekdays, weekends and evenings and to report to various work locations in a timely manner.

Nice To Haves

• Project Management certification is considered an asset.
• Experience working with technology-related initiatives is considered an asset; however, technical IT expertise is not required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and supports the delivery of ConnectTO and Digital Equity initiatives, ensuring project activities, deliverables, timelines, and communications are effectively managed.
• Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with City divisions, community organizations, external partners, and other stakeholders to support program objectives and service improvements.
• Facilitates meetings, consultations, site visits, and stakeholder engagement activities to build awareness, promote collaboration, and advance program priorities.
• Coordinates site assessments and engagement activities to evaluate the accessibility, awareness, and user experience of public Wi-Fi services across City facilities and community spaces.
• Conducts research and analyzes data, stakeholder feedback, and community needs to identify priorities, opportunities, and recommendations that support program planning and decision-making.
• Develops and implements tools, processes, and resources to support program evaluation, service improvements, and consistent delivery across sites.
• Monitors project progress, risks, performance measures, and key outcomes, recommending corrective actions and continuous improvement opportunities as required.
• Supports the implementation of Council-directed initiatives and strategic priorities related to digital inclusion and equitable access to services.
• Prepares reports, briefing notes, presentations, communications materials, and Council-related documentation for a variety of audiences, including senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Coordinates project communications and implementation activities, ensuring stakeholders are informed, engaged, and aligned on program objectives.
• Supports procurement, vendor coordination, contract administration, and other project-related activities, as required.
