About The Position

Hill International is seeking a Project Coordinator I in San Diego, California. This role supports the initialization, scoping, execution, and monitoring of project deliverables under the direct supervision of a Program, Project, or Functional Manager. The position involves following up on and tracking work standards, contractor schedules, work discrepancies, contractor personnel, and communications, aligning with the organization's purposes and goals. The coordinator will track and support program/technical support operations across multiple project/task orders and personnel at diverse locations, maintaining management structure supporting documentation and technical support activities. Key tasks include tracking meeting minutes, arranging meeting schedules, and supporting the tracking of risks, issues, and action items. The role also monitors procurement requests until goods receipt is complete.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Business Management or equivalent field; equivalent experience with customer approval.
  • 2-3+ years experience providing direct project coordination support to Program or Project Managers pertaining to construction projects: Electrical/Gas Substation, Compressor, Transmission, Distribution, IT, or Civil projects.
  • Must be able to assess the potential financial impact of a project to the Company.
  • Must possess the ability to review complex problems and propose innovative solutions.
  • Must be able to build solid business cases/project justifications
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, presentation and reporting skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CAPM, Agile or other Project Management certifications, training and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates project under the direct supervision of a Program, Project or Functional Manager.
  • Supporting initialization, scoping, execution, and monitoring deliverables at the project level.
  • Follow-up and tracking and documentation of work standards, contractor schedules, work discrepancies, contractor personnel and communications, purposes, and goals of the organization at the direction of Program or Project Manager.
  • Tracks and supports program/technical support operations involving multiple project/task orders and personnel at diverse locations.
  • Tracks planning and execution of all program/technical support activities.
  • Maintains management structure supporting documentation technical support activities.
  • Tracks meeting minutes, arranges meeting schedules, provides support for tracking risk, issues and action items.
  • Monitors inflight procurement requests until goods receipt is complete.
