About The Position

Kent is looking for a Project Controls Specialist to support our client’s projects in Bayport, TX. You will maintain project estimating, scheduling, costs, risk management, and project change requests. Typical project sizes range from $10k - $6MM TIC. Days will include interfacing with Project Managers, outside vendors, purchasing, and accounting. You will be responsible for tracking and reporting project metrics, supporting the project managers in schedules, cost reports, and purchasing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting preferred.
  • 3 years of project controls or cost analyst experience.
  • Strong data analytical skills.
  • Strong Experience with SAP.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to organize data and multi-task.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to present updates to the project team and management.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with scheduling software like Microsoft Project is preferred.
  • Experience with data visualization software like Power BI is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Update monthly presentation and data for actual project spend and forecasts.
  • Update monthly presentation for schedule compliance of projects.
  • Support the development of capital planning and budgeting in the Long-Range Plan.
  • Develop ad hoc reports as needed related to Project Controls.
  • Work with Project Managers/Engineers to develop estimates and budgets breakdowns for projects.
  • Maintain cost workbooks for projects.
  • Enter requestions Project Managers/Engineers.
  • Input service receipts and process through SAP at the direction of Capital Lead.
  • Work with Accounts Payable, Receiving, and Accounting to ensure proper receipt and closeout of Purchase Orders.
  • Maintain forecasts monthly for capital projects.
  • Follow up with vendors to maintain invoicing forecasts.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage project schedules, ensuring timely and accurate updates.
  • Track progress relative to baseline schedules and deadlines.
  • Facilitate the engineering and construction change management process with Project Managers/Engineers.
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management.
