About The Position

Our client, a booming commercial construction company in Abilene, TX, is looking for an experienced Project Controls Specialist to join their onsite team. This project is starting in phase one (3-4 years) and then phase two will start and go for another 4+ years. This position is local to Abilene, TX, with preference given to candidates within 2-3 hours away in Texas. This role is open to candidates authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship. C2C arrangements and third-party submissions are not considered.

Requirements

2+ years construction experience (engineer, APM, project coordinator, estimator, etc.)
2+ years Procore experience a MUST
Comfortable reading contracts/scopes and owning schedule, reporting, and issue tracking
Authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

Build and maintain the project controls framework, schedule baselines, and performance reporting (weekly, monthly, KPI, dashboards, etc.)
Own daily issue tracking and maintain a daily field issue log through resolution
Coordinate inputs across engineering, procurement, construction, commercial, finance, and field teams
Spot trends, risks, and inconsistencies before they become real problems
Deliver independent analysis to the PM — not just pass-through reporting
