About The Position
Our client, a booming commercial construction company in Abilene, TX, is looking for an experienced Project Controls Specialist to join their onsite team. This project is starting in phase one (3-4 years) and then phase two will start and go for another 4+ years. This position is for local candidates highly preferred, ideally within 2-3 hours away in Texas only. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship. C2C arrangements and third-party submissions will not be considered.
Requirements
- 2+ years construction experience (engineer, APM, project coordinator, estimator, etc)
- 2+ years Procore experience a MUST
- Comfortable reading contracts/scopes and owning schedule, reporting, and issue tracking
Responsibilities
- Work directly alongside the onsite PM team, reporting to Senior Project Controls Leader
- Build and maintain the project controls framework, schedule baselines, and performance reporting (weekly, monthly, KPI, dashboards, etc.)
- Own daily issue tracking and maintain a daily field issue log through resolution
- Coordinate inputs across engineering, procurement, construction, commercial, finance, and field teams
- Spot trends, risks, and inconsistencies before they become real problems
- Deliver independent analysis to the PM — not just pass-through reporting
