About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Project Controls Manager to be based in Los Angeles, CA. This role requires a skilled individual capable of developing commercial strategies and participating in negotiations. The Project Controls Manager will be responsible for effectively leading the project controls function on large/complex projects, including managing employee performance, conducting root cause analysis, drafting project procedures, and overseeing scope control and change management. The role also involves managing project schedules, resource loading and leveling, budgeting, and client relationships. Additionally, the Project Controls Manager will review project program data, assess raw data from automated systems, participate in client and subcontractor negotiations, and ensure subcontractor funding aligns with work authorizations and expenditures.

Requirements

  • BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Responsibilities

  • Develop commercial strategies.
  • Participate in negotiations.
  • Effectively lead the project controls function on a large/complex project.
  • Document employee performance issues and be instrumental in resolution.
  • Conduct root cause analysis.
  • Draft comprehensive project procedures.
  • Manage scope control and change management.
  • Oversee the production and maintenance of accurate project schedules.
  • Manage schedule resource loading and leveling.
  • Assist the Project Manager in budgeting and managing incentive programs.
  • Manage schedule, critical path analysis, resource loading and leveling.
  • Establish and maintain client relationships.
  • Review and analyze project program.
  • Oversee the production of accurate progress/performance reports.
  • Review and assess raw data that comes from project automated systems.
  • Serve as a key participant in client and/or subcontractor negotiations.
  • Participate in staffing decisions for projects.
  • Ensure that a tracking database is developed and maintained to cross check subcontractor funding is aligned with work authorization and expenditures.
  • Track change order status to ensure the Project Management team is fully aware of detailed change order status.
