About The Position

The Project Controls Manager leads the preparation of cost, schedule and risk deliverables for large, complex power projects in the development phase. Works with Project Team and contract partners to develop cost and schedule estimates, facilitate internal and external approvals and support preparation of regulatory and permitting applications. Works directly with Project Teams to ensure alignment with Entergy’s stage gate process and to ensure that proper project controls tools and processes are implemented. Leads the risk assessment process to ensure project and program-specific risks are captured. Performs qualitative and quantitative risk assessment (QRA) and associated contingency estimate development and approval. Supports project business case development and lessons learned process to meet or exceed Entergy's stage gate process and project management standards. Support and co-lead (with Hiring Manager) process enhancement initiatives including updates to historical benchmarking process, risk management process, owner’s schedule template, cost and schedule basis documents and the lessons learned process. As enhancement initiatives conclude, the role will be transitioned into a project development PCM role to support medium to long term development goals for an expansive portfolio of gas power projects. Optimize project management and project controls processes to support effective development of major capital projects. Provide subject matter expertise in the various disciplines of project management and control, and ensure compliance with Entergy's SGP and project management standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management (or related field) OR equivalent/related work experience.
  • 6 years minimum capital project management and/or project control experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in the management and control of large, complex utility capital projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Utility capital project experience preferred.
  • Experience in the management and control of large, complex capital projects with an owner, EPC or engineering firm.
