As a multi-discipline, self-performing leader, they execute a significant portion of their work in-house, providing strong exposure across all phases of execution—from planning and scheduling through shutdown execution and startup readiness. The role is based in Fort McMurray and supports a major turnaround project with rotational work schedules. Requirements
- Experience in project controls, cost control, or scheduling within industrial construction
- Understanding of project lifecycle and turnaround execution
- Proficiency with scheduling and cost tools (e.g., Primavera, Excel)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail and data accuracy
- Strong communication skills with ability to work cross-functionally
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Responsibilities
- Support project controls functions including scheduling, cost tracking, and forecasting
- Assist in maintaining project schedules and tracking progress against milestones
- Monitor and report on productivity, earned value, and project performance metrics
- Support cost control processes including budgets, commitments, and forecasting
- Collaborate with planners, project managers, and field teams to ensure alignment
- Identify trends, risks, and variances, and support mitigation strategies
- Assist with progress reporting and client deliverables
- Maintain accurate project data in systems and reports
- Support change management and tracking of scope adjustments
- Ensure compliance with project controls procedures and standards
