About The Position

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Analyst II to be based in San Diego, CA. This role involves working with the company's financial and cornerstone systems and processes, applying financial terminology and data analysis concepts. The analyst will identify potential project financial impacts, develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for small projects, and assist in establishing project baseline data using drawings and specifications. A key part of the role includes performing basic analysis of cost and schedule variances, developing knowledge of accounting principles, and assisting in data assembly for trending and forecasting. The position requires understanding progress/performance data, participating in data collection, and reviewing performance trends. Familiarity with earned value, scope control, and change management concepts is expected. The analyst will collect data and perform initial analysis on manpower, labor hour, and labor cost requirements against budget limitations, as well as track actual costs against funding limitations. Support will be provided for tracking purchase order and subcontract commitments and expenditures. Understanding of project revenue and cost concepts, basic scheduling and cost baseline fundamentals, and performance management/cost-schedule integration is also required. The role involves developing knowledge of scope control and change management, supporting the project reporting process, and potentially participating in project cost review meetings.

Requirements

  • BA/BS + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency or experience and/or education.
  • Experience with Microsoft office.

  • Bachelors in Construction Management or Accounting or Finance.
  • Knowledge of Cost Controls.
  • Construction Scheduling knowledge.
  • Experience with Primavera P6, Primavera Unifier or similar project management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Collects and analyzes data for tracking actual cost to funding limitations.

  • Introduced to performance management and cost/schedule integration concepts and principles.
