About the Role The position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all project procurement and material coordination activities to ensure materials are purchased, received, organized, and available according to project schedules and within approved budgets. This role serves as the primary Supply Chain representative for assigned projects, coordinating with Engineering, Project Management, Build, Warehouse, Finance, and suppliers to support the complete material lifecycle from sourcing and purchasing through receiving, inventory management and kitting. The position is accountable for supplier performance, procurement cost optimization, inventory accuracy, material availability, and the efficient flow of purchased and manufactured components throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field is considered an asset
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in purchasing, project procurement, inventory management, warehouse operations, or material coordination within a manufacturing or automation environment
  • Experience using ERP systems (Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred)
  • Previous experience working with material handling equipment (forklift), inventory management in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
  • Negotiation, supplier management, organizational, and communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Valid forklift license is considered an asset
  • Ability / comfortable lifting / moving up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to an ever-changing environment and processes
  • Valid Professional Driver’s License and reliable transportation
  • Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States of America, and able to travel to Canada as required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute the Project Procurement Plan throughout the lifecycle of assigned projects
  • Work closely with Engineering to identify long lead-time items during the design phase
  • Review preliminary Bills of Material (BOMs) to identify procurement risks, lead times, and budget alignment prior to project approval
  • Enter and maintain BOMs within the Dynamics Business Central and generate Purchase Orders
  • Review finalized BOMs for completeness and accuracy prior to releasing Purchase Orders to suppliers
  • Support Applications Engineering during quotation activities by obtaining supplier quotations, evaluating sourcing options, and identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Participating in Project Kick-Off Meetings, Design Reviews, Whiteboard Meetings, and other project planning sessions
  • Provide regular updates to Project Managers and project teams regarding procurement status, delivery schedules, shortages, risks, and mitigation plans
  • Support project closeout by ensuring procurement and material documentation is complete and accurate
  • Physically receive incoming materials, using material handling equipment (including forklifts) when required
  • Organize received materials into project build kits or distribute directly to active production teams
  • Assemble, organize, and maintain kits of purchased and manufactured parts for project builds
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to support project schedules
  • Process material returns, warranty claims, replacement parts, and supplier discrepancies
  • Support inventory counts, inventory accuracy initiatives, and continuous inventory improvements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
