About The Position

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure has a broad mandate and is committed to maintaining and improving New Brunswick’s public infrastructure. The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure’s mission is to contribute to New Brunswick’s economy and quality of life by providing and supporting sustainable infrastructure that allows for the safe and efficient movement of people, goods and government services to the public. The Public-Private Partnerships (P3) Management Branch provides administrative and performance oversight of New Brunswick’s three Public Private Partnership Highway Operators. This includes conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with contractual requirements related to quality, safety, environment and other performance standards.

Requirements

  • A two (2) year post-secondary diploma in a Civil Engineering Technology program with a minimum of five (5) years of related work experience.
  • Must be a member, or be eligible for membership, in the New Brunswick Society of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (NBSCETT) or Registered as a Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists with a Canadian regulatory body.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.
  • Written and spoken competence in English is required.
  • Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration.

Nice To Haves

  • experience in auditing;

Responsibilities

  • Conducting field audits to verify that the Operator is in full compliance with the Project Agreement’s established standards.
  • Verifying Operator’s adherence to established project standards by conducting field audits of performance in summer maintenance, winter maintenance and highway rehabilitation activities.
  • Auditing the Operator’s adherence to traffic control, safety protocols and environmental standards.
  • Ensuring that identified defects are corrected within prescribed timeframes.
  • Documenting deficiencies identified and preparing detailed audit reports.
