About The Position

Shape the iconic skyline of New York! Join HLZAE, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Milrose Consultants, LLC, as a Field Project Associate / Architect and contribute to the preservation and revitalization of the city's architectural heritage. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious architect to gain hands-on experience, develop their technical design skills, and take increasing ownership of projects within a supportive and growth-oriented environment. This hybrid role offers a mix of in-office, on-site, and remote work providing dynamic and flexible work experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of field experience in the construction industry (comfortable working at heights), restoration experience is a plus.
  • BA in Architecture or equivalent relevant experience
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, proficient in producing construction documents
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively; experience managing 4-7 projects simultaneously is a plus.
  • Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills with a proactive approach to task management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with diverse stakeholders.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset and the ability to contribute positively to a supportive work environment.
  • 4HR User Supported Scaffolding Certification
  • 16HR User Suspended Scaffolding Certification

Nice To Haves

  • restoration experience is a plus
  • experience managing 4-7 projects simultaneously is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support project managers on medium-to-large-scale architectural projects; Lead smaller assignments with growing independence
  • Conduct building inspections on-site—including from scaffolding and lifts—documenting findings and supporting project analysis across façade restoration, preservation, rehabilitation, and alteration projects.
  • Actively participate in all phases of projects including investigation, estimating, design documentation, municipal filing, bidding, and construction administration.
  • Produce detailed architectural drawings in AutoCAD; efficiently create and revise project documents such as field reports, estimates, and meeting minutes.
  • Foster strong professional relationships through regular and clear communication with clients, contractors, and consultants; attend meetings and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Monitor construction activity to ensure adherence to plans and specifications; proactively identifying and escalating any discrepancies or issues to Project Manager as needed.
  • Maintain a current understanding of New York City building codes and zoning regulations, and provide support in navigating public review processes and agency filings.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively both independently, managing tasks and deadlines autonomously, and collaboratively within a team, contributing positively to a fast-paced project environment.
