About The Position

The Project Assistant provides technical, administrative, and coordination support to ensure effective implementation, monitoring, learning, and visibility of the Nature-based Solutions (NbS) project. The role supports biodiversity conservation, SMART monitoring, Village Development Funds (VDFs), and nature-positive livelihood components, while ensuring strong PMEL systems, GEDSI integration, project learning, and strategic communications. This role is based in the Pakse office, Champasak Province, with regular travel to the field.

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in natural resource management, information technology, communication, administration and others.
  • Proven experience of working with government officials, local communities
  • 2 years of practical experience in related fields either with NGOs or conservation projects.
  • Knowledge of conservation, NbS/EbA, fishery management, climate change, and GEDSI.
  • Proven ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to produce communication materials, design, and familiarity with computer systems is a plus.
  • Experience working in Siphandone, knowing the area is preferrable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day coordination and logistical support to the project team, assist with preparation of workplans and budget for activities.
  • Assist with the implementation of on-ground project activities including both biodiversity-related and nature-positive activities as per the work plans.
  • Support administrative processes including event organization, travel coordination and field logistics, documentation of approvals and correspondence, maintain organized filing systems (digital and hard copy).
  • Assist in the preparation of work plans and budget plans to monitor all technical, financial and administrative aspects on the utilization and impact of all resources made available to the project.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual reports by compiling inputs and evidence.
  • Support the implementation of the PMEL framework, assist with collection, cleaning, and organization of project data (biodiversity, livelihoods, SMART patrol, VDFs, training, GEDSI indicators, and so on).
  • Support teams in routine monitoring activities and follow-up on action points, maintain organized project databases and documentation systems.
  • Support learning, adaptive management and communication by (1) documenting lessons learned and good practices, (2) technical briefs, case studies, and learning notes, (3) collecting photos and videos from field activities, (4) collecting testimonials and quotes from communities and partners and (4) before-and-after documentation of NbS interventions
  • Support mainstreaming of GEDSI across project activities, assist in tracking GEDSI indicators, documenting inclusive participation and benefits, and ensuring accessibility considerations in events and communications
  • Provide support to the project team as required.
