About The Position

STV is seeking a Project Architect for its Buildings group in Denver, Colorado. The Project Architect is the chief technical architect responsible for the management and creation of construction documents on assigned projects within STV's Denver architecture practice. This role carries technical responsibility for the drawing set and specifications from Design Development through Construction Documents, ensuring coordinated, code-compliant, and buildable documents. The position is central to project delivery, working with Senior Project Managers and alongside the Design Lead and Design Manager.

Requirements

  • Registered Architect (RA); preferably a CO State registration required, or obtainable within an agreed period after hire.
  • 10–15 years of professional architecture experience, including construction document production and multi-discipline technical coordination.
  • Proficiency in Revit/BIM for architectural production.
  • Working knowledge of Denver and Colorado building codes.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating with engineering disciplines and outside consultants through DD and CD phases.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Public-agency or institutional project experience (transit, education, justice, or civic)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead for the production of construction documents, including drawings and specifications, on assigned projects.
  • Lead and develop the project team, directing technical coordination across all engineering disciplines and outside consultants to produce coordinated, conflict-free documents.
  • Own technical detailing, code compliance, and document quality within the assigned scope.
  • Partner with the Design Lead as a technical collaborator, with involvement deepening through Design Development and Construction Documents.
  • Focus on design, technical decisions, drawing production oversight, specifications, and mentoring of production staff.
  • Ensure model quality and the integration of specifications with the drawing set, with all production executed in Revit.
  • Contribute to STV's national technical leadership by participating in working sessions, sharing project experience, and helping build firmwide technical standards and tools.
  • Support pursuits by contributing project-experience narratives and technical approach content to proposals.
