About The Position

We are seeking a passionate Project Architect with a focus on the Federal / Public sector. The ideal candidate will be skilled in developing workplace strategies and architectural solutions for complex projects, demonstrating a collaborative spirit and a proactive approach to problem-solving. A deep understanding of technology, workplace and building performance, and sustainability strategies in design and construction is essential. This role involves leading multiple projects independently and collaborating on larger-scale projects, requiring strong presentation and communication skills to build relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture required.
  • 5-10 years of work experience in an architectural or interior design firm on medium to large commercial office, civic, institutional, cultural, infrastructure or other complex projects, especially in the Federal or Public sectors.
  • Experience with workplace planning in historic or existing buildings, and modernizations, renovations and rehabilitations of historic office, institutional and civic buildings preferred.
  • IDIQ and MATOC experience preferred.
  • Capable of leading multiple projects independently as well as collaborate on medium to larger-scale projects as part of a team.
  • Ability to balance demands on multiple projects / task orders at various stages of development.
  • Ability to develop and present initial design concepts.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop designs with understanding of building systems, sustainability requirements, accessibility and code compliance for solutions that are unique and engaging while tailored to the client’s vision and project requirements.
  • Strong technical knowledge of medium to large-scale construction types, construction detailing, and building materials and systems.
  • Experience in all phases of Architectural services from Pre-Design to Concept, Schematic Design through Construction Documentation, and Construction Administration preferred.
  • Experience in feasibility studies, program of requirements, space programming, space planning, workplace strategy, furniture specifications, entitlements, planning approvals, and other relevant facets of commercial, civic and institutional architecture and planning are desirable.
  • Design and documentation experience using Revit required.

  • Experience with workplace planning in historic or existing buildings, and modernizations, renovations and rehabilitations of historic office, institutional and civic buildings.

  • LEED documentation and certification experience.
  • Autocad, InDesign, Photoshop, MS Word, and MS Excel experience.

Responsibilities

  • Developing workplace strategies and architectural solutions for complex projects in the Federal / Public sector.
  • Leading multiple projects independently and collaborating on medium to larger-scale projects as part of a team.
  • Balancing the demands of multiple projects/task orders at various stages of development.
  • Developing and presenting initial design concepts.
  • Developing designs with an understanding of building systems, sustainability requirements, accessibility, and code compliance.
  • Managing all phases of Architectural services from Pre-Design to Concept, Schematic Design through Construction Documentation, and Construction Administration.
  • Conducting feasibility studies, developing programs of requirements, space programming, space planning, and workplace strategy.
  • Specifying furniture and handling entitlements, planning approvals, and other relevant facets of commercial, civic, and institutional architecture and planning.
  • Leading LEED documentation and certification efforts (preferred).
