Lord Aeck Sargent Planning & Design, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Project Architect with excellent communication skills and a passion for historic buildings to join our Atlanta office. The ideal candidate will be registered, possess project management experience, and demonstrate initiative in researching, designing, and implementing complex historic preservation projects. Requirements

  • Professional (NAAB Accredited) Degree in Architecture.
  • At least 5-8 years of experience in an architectural office environment.
  • Registration as an Architect or evidence of near completion of the process.
  • Experience with historic preservation projects.
  • Strong Revit and production skills.
  • Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign skills.
  • Good computer skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Self-motivated individual able to work well in a collaborative office environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in historic preservation and building reuse of all kinds.
  • A Historic Preservation degree.
  • Working knowledge of historic preservation and the US Secretary of the Interior Standards for Rehabilitation.
  • Graphic communication skills to support a variety of presentation media.
  • Interest in the rehabilitation of existing buildings and important historic sites.
  • Detail-oriented, methodical, process-oriented, yet open to change and motivated by innovation.
  • Great collaborator and communicator – excellent verbal and written skills are important.
  • Ambitious self-starter with get-it-done attitude who strives for results and performs well under pressure.
  • Good sense of humor!

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, and implement complex historic preservation projects.
  • Work with people at all levels of the firm.
  • Support a variety of presentation media, including presentation drawings, marketing materials, and feasibility studies.
  • Conduct research, analytical thinking, modeling, and materials analysis to support the historic preservation design process.
  • Collaborate effectively in an office environment.
  • Handle job stress, deadlines, and interact effectively with others in the workplace.
