We are looking for a technically skilled, design-driven Architect / Project Manager to join their Commercial team in Pleasanton, CA. This experienced professional will take ownership of the technical design and delivery of a major project or several smaller projects, evaluating and recommending thoughtful design solutions that best meet each client’s needs. This is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week onsite at their Pleasanton office.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience developing details and providing technical and design support through Design Development for commercial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes, with demonstrated awareness of code limitations.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
  • A self-motivated work style, with the ability to operate independently and as part of a team while coordinating effectively with technical staff, outside consultants, and clients.
  • Ability to provide clear, effective leadership and direction to architectural staff.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Revit/BIM.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
  • Licensed and registered Architect in the state of California required.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience, including a minimum of two years of project management experience.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture required.
  • Recent experience working on architectural projects within the United States.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. building codes, permitting processes, and construction practices.
  • Experience coordinating with U.S.-based clients, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
  • Clear commitment to ongoing professional growth.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer; visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform a wide range of assignments encompassing conventional aspects of architectural design, applying advanced concepts to projects of moderate size and complexity.
  • Conduct design, planning, and occupancy analyses and develop design layouts.
  • Prepare project specifications by compiling, coordinating, and analyzing relevant data.
  • Provide professional architectural services from Schematic Design through building permit submittal and Construction Administration.
  • Direct, coordinate, and oversee the production of project design, construction documents, and construction administration.
  • Monitor project budgets and maintain accurate, thorough project documentation.
  • Review drawings and designs to ensure compliance with established standards and specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced staff, including redlining and reviewing others’ work.
  • Maintain ongoing communication and positive working relationships with clients and outside consultants.
