Temple University's Planning and Capital Projects is searching for a Project Architect/Manager. This position serves as the University's owner's representative for small- and medium-sized capital improvement projects, with primary responsibility for project planning, programming, design management, consultant coordination, and architectural leadership throughout the project lifecycle. The Project Architect/Manager serves as the University's owner's representative and design lead for assigned capital improvement projects, providing leadership throughout planning and design while partnering with the assigned Construction Project Manager to support successful project delivery through construction and closeout. Working collaboratively with campus stakeholders, consultants, regulatory agencies, and internal Project Delivery Group staff, the Project Architect/Manager manages the planning and design process, coordinates consultant activities, and reviews design deliverables to ensure compliance with University standards, project requirements, applicable codes, and institutional goals for quality, functionality, maintainability, scope, budget, and schedule. The position also supports procurement, construction administration, and project closeout by collaborating with the assigned Construction Project Manager to maintain design intent throughout project delivery. In addition to managing externally designed projects, the Project Architect/Manager will prepare feasibility studies, test fits, space planning studies, conceptual designs, and limited in-house construction documents for select renovation and improvement projects. The position also supports campus planning initiatives, signage and wayfinding, code and regulatory reviews, furniture and finish selection, and other architectural services that contribute to the continuous improvement of Temple University's built environment. The successful candidate will combine strong architectural design expertise with project management, communication, and relationship-building skills to deliver high-quality, user-focused projects while serving as a trusted representative of the University throughout the planning, design, and construction process. Performs other duties as assigned.
