About The Position

Trileaf Corporation is a nationwide environmental, architecture, and engineering consulting firm that assists clients with environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance, and engineering and architectural design. From its headquarters in St. Louis, MO, and multiple branch offices throughout the U.S., Trileaf serves the wireless communications, commercial real estate and financial industries. As a Project Archaeologist, responsibilities include, but not limited to: The completion of SHPO file reviews cultural resources including archaeological resources and built environment resources Unsupervised Phase I archaeological surveys Construction monitoring Authoring of reports for section 106 compliance to SHPO and THPO standards Travel to project sites may include overnight stays. Overall travel requirements average about 2 days a week.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated additional experience sufficient to satisfy Secretary of Interior (SOI) qualifications for Archaeologist
  • 2 years of field experience and applied knowledge of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), with preference given to candidates with experience supporting telecommunications projects
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting background research and completing technical reports in fulfillment of Section 106 requirements and to SHPO/THPO standards
  • Experience holding and fulfilling antiquities permits
  • Capable of field work including shovel testing and pedestrian survey in various field and weather conditions
  • Ability and willingness to travel (travel typically not expected to exceed 2-3 days at a time)
  • Flexible and adaptable to fast changing projects
  • Good computer skills particularly using the Microsoft Suite of programs (Word, Excel) as well as Google Earth.

  • Valid Driver License
  • Master’s degree or higher in archaeology, anthropology, or closely related field

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with QGIS or ArcGIS a plus
