About The Position

Performs a variety of cleaning techniques including dusting, mopping, scrubbing and the use of heavy equipment. Cleans and services Arnot Health areas, moves furniture, equipment and supplies in and around the hospital in an orderly and sanitary manner. This includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, shampooing carpets, and damp dusting furniture. The role also involves transporting and setting up furniture for meetings, running small extractors, floor machines, and small burnishers. Additionally, the position requires loading linen and microfiber carts and bins to predetermined par levels, completing deliveries, and managing linen processes. This includes collecting soiled linen and microfiber products and delivering them to the soiled holding area. The role also entails washing walls, ceiling tiles, vents, windows (inside and out), window screens, and light fixtures, as well as high dusting requiring a ladder. Responsibilities include handling garbage and medical waste, following proper procedures for packing needle containers, and completing regular housecleans in assigned areas. Supplies are replenished as needed, and isolation cleaning is performed using proper procedures. The role involves changing drapes and cubical curtains, moving beds, and cleaning the Morgue after an autopsy. The employee must observe safety rules and report hazards. Equipment must be operated safely and cleaned after each use. Work and storage areas must be maintained neatly. Attending all annual mandatory educational programs is required. The employee must understand and demonstrate the importance of satisfying customer/patient needs by interacting in a friendly and caring way, being attentive to needs, and taking initiative to maintain communication for a secure and pleasant experience.

  • Must be able to read and understand both verbal and written instructions.
  • No previous experience necessary.

  • Takes care of garbage and medical waste and follows proper procedure on packing needle containers.
  • Completes regular housecleans in an assigned area, using proper procedures.
  • Replenishes supplies as needed.
  • Completes isolation cleaning using proper procedure.
  • Changes drapes and cubical curtains as required and move beds as needed.
  • Cleans the Morgue after an autopsy has been performed and the major portion has been cleaned.
  • Observes safety rules and reports safety and health hazards to supervisor.
  • Operates all equipment in a correct, safe manner and cleans equipment after each use.
  • Maintains neat and clean work and storage areas.
  • Attends all annual mandatory educational programs as required by position.
