About The Position

This role provides research, analysis, implementation support, and decision-making insights to support organizational growth and operational readiness for Alberta's newest police service, the Alberta Sheriffs Police Service (ASPS). Working in a fast-paced and evolving environment, you will collaborate with internal teams, operational units, external partners, and stakeholders to gather information, identify opportunities for improvement, support project implementation, and contribute to organizational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting projects, organizational initiatives, process improvement, analysis, or implementation activities.
  • Strong analytical, research, and organizational skills with the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources.
  • Experience preparing reports, presentations, briefing materials, and decision-support products.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in ambiguous and evolving environments while managing multiple priorities.
  • A University graduation in business, public administration, project management, organizational development, public safety, business analysis, or a related field plus four (4) years of related experience; or equivalent.
  • Directly related experience considered on the basis of one (1) year of education for one (1) year of experience; or one (1) year of experience for one (1) year of education.
  • Must obtain and maintain the relevant level of security clearance prior to and throughout employment with ASPS.
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in public safety, government, policing, emergency services, or project-based environments would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in policing, public safety, government, military, emergency services, or similarly structured operational environments.
  • Experience supporting organizational stand-up, transformation, or implementation initiatives.
  • Experience with Lean practices, process improvement methodologies, or continuous improvement approaches.
  • Experience working with operational data, metrics, reporting, or performance tracking.
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement, facilitation, or workshop support.
  • Knowledge of project management or business analysis methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research, analysis, and current-state assessments to identify opportunities, risks, and improvement areas.
  • Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of organizational and operational initiatives.
  • Track project milestones, deliverables, risks, dependencies, and implementation progress.
  • Prepare reports, briefing materials, presentations, and implementation updates to support decision-making and governance activities.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to support organizational priorities, continuous improvement, and capability development.
  • Support research, analysis, and information gathering to identify organizational needs, gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate and support projects, initiatives, timelines, deliverables, action items, and implementation activities aligned with ASPS priorities.
  • Prepare briefing materials, reports, summaries, presentations, and documentation to support governance and evidence-informed decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, operational units, government partners, and stakeholders to support engagement, coordination, and information sharing.
  • Contribute to process improvement, organizational learning, knowledge management, and the development of effective systems, practices, and operational capability.
