About The Position

This position is responsible for performing administration and operational support functions to support general business and project operations. It involves assisting in day-to-day administrative and basic accounting functions of the business unit to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely processes. The role includes processing accounts payable invoices, accounts receivable contract billings and collections, vendor setup, payroll, purchasing card reconciliation, and document control. It also involves providing communication to appropriate parties, assisting field operations with inquiries and administrative support, assisting with job set-ups, A/R collections, and internal/self-audits. Additionally, the position supports other functional leaders with administrative tasks, provides purchasing/shipping/receiving support, and assists with business development communications. This is a dynamic role with responsibilities subject to change.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Demonstrate ethical and professional business practices.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate high level task management.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and problem solve.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and respond with a sense of urgency.
  • Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills.
  • Quick typing, clicking and general computer skills.
  • Ability to abide by Granite’s Code of Conduct on a daily basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Project administration and general business administration experience preferred.
  • JD Edwards World/One World or some ERP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in day-to-day administrative and basic accounting functions.
  • Process accounts payable invoices.
  • Process accounts receivable contract billings and collections.
  • Perform vendor setup.
  • Assist with payroll.
  • Reconcile purchasing cards.
  • Manage document control.
  • Provide accurate and timely communication to appropriate parties.
  • Assist field operations with informational inquiries and administrative support.
  • Assist with job set-ups, contract billings, and A/R collections.
  • Assist with internal audits and self-audits of all business functions.
  • Assist other functional leaders with administrative functions (HR, Equipment, Safety, Estimating, Construction, Construction Materials).
  • Provide purchasing/shipping/receiving support for field operations.
  • Provide business development support for customer communications.
