About The Position

Intermountain Electric Inc. (IME) is seeking a Project Accountant to join their growing team! As a Project Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of assigned projects, ensuring adherence to accounting principles and company policies. You will collaborate closely with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to monitor project budgets, analyze variances, and provide insightful financial recommendations.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a combination of relevant experience
  • 3+ years experience as a Project Accountant or similar role.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a financial liaison for the project, offering support to Project Management by overseeing project accounting, ensuring precise and punctual reporting.
  • Take charge of the financial dimensions of designated projects, encompassing tasks such as budgeting, forecasting, and vigilant monitoring of actual costs in comparison to budgets.
  • Produce precise and timely financial reports pertaining to project performance, ensuring alignment with accounting standards.
  • Manage intricate billings and reconciliations associated with the project.
  • Analyze project costs, identify variances, and provide detailed explanations to project teams and management.
  • Compile and analyze financial data for operations.
  • Perform return-on-investment analyses on expected capital expenditures and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements in all financial transactions related to projects.
  • Continuously review and enhance project accounting processes to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
  • Identify and assess financial risks associated with projects and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Work closely with project managers and cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and provide financial insights.
  • Collaborate with customers for questions regarding costs, billing and audit requests.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for the company, promoting its values and expertise in the electrical contracting sector.
  • Demonstrate the highest level of integrity and ethics with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
