About The Position

As a Project Accountant, you'll work closely with our Project Managers and accounting team to ensure project financial accuracy, maintain project budgets, and support overall project performance. Primary responsibilities will focus on accurate client invoicing and adherence to all contractual billing requirements.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or similar business degree.
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Data analysis and interpretation skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Ability to work on-site full-time (100% in-office).
  • Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Engineering industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers across all operational offices in Project setups and budget review.
  • Activate Projects in the accounting system after confirming all contractual billing requirements are addressed.
  • Prepare client invoices. To include draft invoices for project manager approval or modifications, compiling backup documentation for invoices, and submitting invoices.
  • Maintain client and project files.
  • Manage applicable client invoicing portals.
  • Review and maintain contract documents, change orders, and client approvals.
  • Create job-related purchase orders and manage open commitments.
  • Assist the AR team in their collection efforts when necessary.
  • Educate project managers on proper invoicing methodologies, revenue recognition, and data analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies in all project financial activities.
  • Prepare year-end audit schedules per assignment.
  • Other assignments as directed.
