About The Position

Under supervision from the Controller, the Project Accountant manages and produces accurate and timely draw packages and cost transactions associated with assigned projects. The Project Accountant is an integral part of the Project Accounting Team analyzing job cost and managing accounting related project risk. The following is a description of the general duties associated with the position. Requirements

  • 5-10+ years Construction accounting experience, including preparation of G7702/G703, Sworn Statement and Lien waivers
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all parties in written and oral form.
  • Excellent mathematical skills, including application and use in problem solving.
  • Ability to coordinate with many internal and external parties, including staff at other FCL locations.
  • Ability to meet cut-off dates for accounting cycle and billing deadlines.
  • Tenacity to resolve accounting issues with internal and external parties.
  • Well-versed in software specific to job duties such as Viewpoint, CMIC, MS Project, Construction software, MS Office applications, accounting software and the ability to learn new software.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as advocate for FCL promoting and adhering to all company policies and procedures.
  • Works in tandem with project team to set up projects and manage accounting functions throughout the project.
  • Adheres to owner requirements and FCL requirements.
  • Coordinate with clients, project managers and vendors to produce accurate and timely draw packages and cost transactions.
  • Analyze job cost and manage accounting related project risk.
  • Promote and model exemplary customer service.
  • Work with project team to set-up projects in all systems per owner and FCL requirements
  • Coordinate with subcontractors for billing in subcontractor billing software
  • Review subcontracts and change order coding and import to job cost
  • Work with project team to train on procedures
  • Coordinate with all parties to prepare monthly billing package
  • Review subcontractor compliance
  • Monitor project receivables and cash receipts
  • Complete all accounting transactions per the monthly closing schedule
  • Analyze job costs for completeness and trends
  • Accounting special projects
  • Other duties as assigned
