About The Position

Our partner is seeking a Project Accountant II to support the full financial lifecycle of multiple projects. This role ensures accurate accounting, contract compliance, and strong financial performance across engineering, construction, and architecture‑related projects. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, comfortable working independently, and enjoys collaborating with Project Managers and operational teams in a fast‑paced environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of project accounting experience
  • Seeking engineering, construction, or architecture industries
  • Experience with project budgeting, invoicing, and contract administration
  • Familiarity with earned value management and cost tracking
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Hands‑on experience with AP, AR, and general ledger accounting
  • Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and month‑end processes
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full project accounting lifecycle including contract setup, budget tracking, invoicing, and reporting
  • Prepare accurate client invoices, ensure proper documentation, and assist with collections
  • Monitor project budgets, review cost data and earned value metrics, and support forecasting
  • Maintain contract documentation and ensure compliance with contract terms
  • Process accounts payable including vendor and subconsultant invoices
  • Review and process timesheets and expense reports for accuracy and proper coding
  • Perform general ledger tasks such as journal entries and reconciliations
  • Partner with Project Managers to explain variances and resolve financial issues
  • Participate in project reviews and ongoing financial monitoring
  • Support month‑end close activities related to project accounting
  • Handle confidential financial information with professionalism and accuracy
