About The Position

This is a full-time position which supports the Program Abroad Office (PAO) and is integral to empowering UT's Global Vision forward. The Programs Abroad Coordinator promotes, facilitates, organizes and manages a robust portfolio of abroad programs, including global study, international internships, service learning, international service learning, and exchanges. This role serves as an advisor and liaison to students, providing comprehensive to support in identifying, applying to, participating in, and returning from abroad programs which align with academic and professional goals. The Programs Abroad Coordinator works closely with colleges and departments along with global partners and stakeholders to develop, renew, negotiate, and manage credit-bearing abroad programs, which includes shepherding programs through the proposal, budgeting, and contracting process. Further, this role contributes to the development and maintenance of strategies and processes which support PAO, the Division of Global Engagement, and the campus as whole with respect to positioning UT as a leading in global education. Additional responsibilities include student and faculty recruitment and outreach, advising students on program options along with foreign and transfer credit procedures, maintaining and expanding relationships with key stakeholders and partners, determining and measuring program viability metrics, providing consistent and regular communication regarding program updates, and remaining abreast on best practices within the field of education abroad. The Programs Abroad Coordinator may assist with service and support for inbound international students, and contributes to risk management and emergency response protocols for programs abroad participants. The incumbent will represent the college and university to foreign partners and foster institutional-level relationships. Additional responsibilities include the identification of scholarship and grant opportunities to support study abroad programs and students.
