About The Position

The Office of the Visitors Center at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) invites applications and nominations for our LDA - Coordinator of VolCorps Student Programs position. We are seeking candidates who can contribute in meaningful ways to enhance the accessibility of higher education, fostering a diverse and inclusive academic environment, and improving the recruitment and graduation of our students. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree must be obtained by the date of hire; current students nearing graduation are encouraged to apply.
  • 2 years of student employment within guest relations/tour experience required.
  • Student volunteer work and/or internship experience will be considered.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need now or in the future for sponsorship for employment-based visa status.

Nice To Haves

  • Some experience giving oral presentations.
  • 2+ years experience working with diverse populations, student employment included.
  • Previous work with student employees or campus tours.
  • Experience and knowledge of working with a tour/ambassador program
  • Knowledge and experience working with Undergraduate Admissions or Student Services & Experience

Responsibilities

  • Supports the coordination, execution, and continuous improvement of student engagement programs and visitor experience initiatives within the University of Tennessee Enrollment Management Division.
  • Works closely with the Associate Director, Visitors Center and Student Programs to support student-led engagement efforts, including the Student Ambassador Program, STAR and Volunteer Team, as part of the University’s VolCorps initiatives.
  • Contributes to delivering high-quality campus experiences for prospective students, families, and guests through effective program management, student staff development, and operational support for recruitment and outreach activities.
