About The Position

The Programming Board Student Supervisor is responsible for co-chairing the Programming Board, the primary social programming entity on campus, providing regular events and activities for diverse interests. This role involves supervising the Program Organizer team, overseeing event implementation across various activity areas (Campus Activities, Late Night, Off-Campus, Special Events, and Spirit Activities) in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Student Activities. The position also includes transferable skills such as leadership, team management, conflict resolution, budget management, strategic planning, communication, and time management.

Requirements

  • Prior experience with campus programming, including service on the Programming Board, or equivalent experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Co-chair Programming Board and supervise the Programming Board administrative team, including facilitating meetings, supporting team members, and organizing team development.
  • Facilitate the hiring process for the Programming Board Executive Board.
  • Oversee the Program Organizer team for Campus Activities, Late Night, Off-Campus, Special Events, and Spirit Activities.
  • Hold regular meetings with each Program Organizer to stay updated on programming areas.
  • Meet weekly with the Programming Board co-chair and Assistant Director of Student Activities.
  • Recruit and select Programming Board general membership through an application and interview process.
  • Lead the development of a programming calendar via a semesterly event submission and selection process.
  • Facilitate large-scale events for New Student Orientation, Fall Block Party, and Springfest.
  • Maintain three weekly office hours in the Office of Student Activities.
  • Represent the Programming Board to College and SGA bodies.
  • Assist with Office of Student Activities initiatives, including training, programming reports, data review, and financial reports.
  • Facilitate the hiring and training processes for the next year’s Programming Board Co-Chairs.
  • Facilitate the ongoing assessment of the Programming Board, gathering feedback from the student body through surveys, forums, and tabling.
