The Programmer IV serves as a senior .NET and Angular developer and performs advanced technical consultation, mentoring, and solution leadership to ensure the technical continuity and quality of development, enhancement, and maintenance efforts for information systems supporting the HHSC Division of Behavioral Health Services. Responsibilities include but not limited to reviewing and evaluating project plans from a technical perspective; leading analysis, design, programming, testing, and documentation activities; estimating resource requirements; developing technical specifications; conducting structured code reviews; mentoring new and experienced programmers on modern development methods and standards; and keeping management informed while coordinating effectively with other Information Technology groups. This position is classified as a full-time position (40 hours a week). Work outside of regular hours may be required. Travel to other work locations may be required. Performs other duties as assigned.
