About The Position

The agency seeks a senior-level Lead Full Stack Developer to support existing .NET applications and participate in the software development lifecycle for a new SACWIS system. Working under the direction of agency management, the developer will contribute to requirements verification, design and development, testing, maintenance, and support. The role also works with the System Integrator to support knowledge transfer and ongoing maintenance for an assigned module. The developer will create and maintain reports and ETL solutions, support SOA integration initiatives, and participate in SDLC activities with the System Integrator, including meetings and verification of requirements, design, testing, and environment-configuration deliverables. Work includes database design, data integration and migration, SQL development, data quality and analytics, data-flow validation, performance optimization, documentation, and development and deployment of Tableau reports.

Requirements

At least 10 years of prior experience demonstrating the required knowledge and skills; the posting refers to State IT Professional Services Agreement classification requirements for Solution Architect.
More than 5 years of experience with Tableau.
More than 5 years of experience writing complex SQL queries.
More than 5 years of expertise with T-SQL and SSRS and SSIS or Talend.
Experience debugging and improving query performance.
Experience deploying SSIS packages using Git check-in, setting up environmental variables, and creating corresponding SQL Agent jobs.
Strong problem-solving, cross-functional analysis, and forward-thinking abilities.
Flexibility to adapt to changing situations, handle multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
Must be organized, proactive, self-directed, and self-starting; able to drive work from requirements through implementation.
Strong abstract-thinking and problem-solving skills.
Very good verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Transact-SQL and stored procedures.
Experience creating, deploying, and maintaining Talend reports.

Responsibilities

Develop Tableau reports and deploy them to a report server or integrated SharePoint report server.
Assist in designing and developing database architecture, including relational data structures, data marts, data dictionaries, and logical and physical data models.
Develop strategies for data acquisition, data quality, and handling data discrepancies.
Assist with migrating and integrating data and processes from legacy systems to new applications and technologies.
Develop and maintain efficient, documented custom Microsoft T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, and triggers in accordance with business rules and requirements.
Access data held in database management systems such as DB2 and SQL Server.
Design, develop, and implement ETL/ELT solutions for data ingestion, cleansing, business-rule execution, and data distribution.
Apply data analytics best practices to data modeling, ETL pipelines, and near-time data solutions.
Coordinate with business analysts and users to validate requirements.
Integrate external data with in-house data.
Test and validate data flows and prepare ETL processes to meet business requirements.
Design and implement data-conversion strategies for moving from legacy systems to new platforms.
Validate designs, reconcile data, and implement error handling in data-load processes.
Optimize SSIS package execution and SQL execution to improve data-load performance.
Design SSIS packages for data exchange, including file transfer and secure file transfer, and import and export files using FTP/SFTP.
Participate in requirements gathering, data mapping, data extraction and loading, data testing, troubleshooting, documentation, performance optimization, and maintenance.
Create different kinds of Tableau reports according to user requirements, including reports with dynamic grouping and sorting, on-demand subreports, drill-downs, summaries, and cross-tabs.
Participate in SDLC processes, including requirements verification, design, development, testing, maintenance, and support.
Support existing .NET applications and participate in the SDLC process for the new SACWIS system.
Work with the System Integrator to support knowledge transfer and ongoing maintenance for an assigned module, and verify requirements, design, testing, and environment-configuration deliverables.
Create and maintain SSRS reports and SSIS ETL packages, and support SOA integration initiatives.
