About The Position

Under the general direction of the Manager, Data Solutions and Analytics (TIMB), the Programmer and Application Development Analyst role is to define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain new software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements. This includes writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications. The Analyst will also research, design, conceptualize, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle. This position highly contributes to identifying PSAC’s various operational business processes and procedures and applying them to functional requirements to produce enterprise level architecture for diverse applications.

Requirements

  • 3-year college education or a combination of 5+ education and experience in application development and support.
  • 5+ years demonstrated working experience in application design and development.
  • Solid understanding of the applications development lifecycle.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Web and mobile Applications and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and API’s.
  • Ability to analyze, understand, and respond strategically and tactically to operational and business issues with innovative, sustainable technical solutions.
  • Ability to partner effectively with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate operational needs into technical solutions, and manage expectations throughout the solution lifecycle.
  • Ability to work effectively within Agile and iterative delivery environments, contributing to planning, estimation, continuous improvement, and incremental delivery of applications and services.
  • Ability to apply secure coding practices and understand application security, privacy, and data protection principles throughout the development lifecycle.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with building workflow and entity relationship diagrams in Visio.
