About The Position

To provide high-quality information systems and PC application support to a diverse LRSD user community. Employees in this role serve as supervised assistants responsible for creating and maintaining reports for multiple departments in accordance with established procedures. This position operates under the direct supervision of the Applications Development Group Coordinator and functions as a member of a programming team within a fast-paced educational environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of databases and query syntax in any programming language.
  • Demonstrates the ability to write functional code that follows established standards and best practices.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of the project lifecycle, from initiation through completion.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
  • Ability to learn and apply new technical concepts and tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with batch scripting and/or PowerShell.
  • Experience with report writing tools such as Crystal Reports, Cognos, SSRS Report Builder, or similar platforms.
  • Such alternatives and additions to the above qualifications may be deemed appropriate by the Superintendent.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains Transact-SQL (T-SQL) code using Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Creates and maintains reports using tools such as Crystal Reports, Cognos, SSRS Report Builder, or similar reporting platforms.
  • Responds to user requests utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel and Word.
  • Assists in defining reporting requirements, including gathering information, identifying data sources, and designing reports.
  • Provides high-quality customer service to end users through both verbal and written communication.
  • Collaborates as a member of a programming team in a fast-paced educational environment.
  • Develops and maintains user documentation and application documentation.
  • Assists in collecting and reporting data for ADE cycle reports (nine times annually).
  • Maintains thorough documentation of project processes and procedures.
  • Supports higher-level programmer analysts as directed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
