The Center for Economic and Social Research (CESR) at the University of Southern California is seeking a Programmer Analyst II to join our dynamic team. We are looking for a skilled and motivated individual who can lead and contribute to projects within the Program on Global Aging, Health, and Policy (Global Aging Program). The primary responsibilities of the Programmer Analyst II include designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining complex research programming systems and harmonized datasets that support the Program on Global Aging, Health, and Policy. In addition to individual data preparation, this role builds reproducible programming frameworks used across the team, monitors and reviews code produced by others, and ensures consistency across projects. The position also involves close collaboration with researchers to translate policy rules and survey metadata into structured programming logic, validate outputs, and document processes for both technical and non-technical audiences. Additionally, the role provides guidance and mentorship to junior programmers, including reviewing their work and establishing coding standards. This is a grant funded, one year (renewable) fixed term position and hybrid work arrangement.
