About The Position

Wits Support Health Initiatives (SHI) is a division of Wits Health Consortium (Pty) Ltd, dedicated to harmonizing health for a brighter Africa. SHI focuses on supporting the improvement of public health in Africa through a One Health approach, by combining expertise, passion, and dedication to impactful action to create healthier communities. Their initiatives include supporting public health interventions, educational programs, and collaboration with both local and international partners. This role is responsible for coordinating program activities, maintaining implementation momentum, tracking deliverables, supporting Consultant and Stakeholder engagement, and ensuring effective execution across multiple countries and grants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Programme Management, Public Health, International Development, Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum 5-8 years' relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting Donor funded programme is preferrable.
  • Experience coordinating multiple Stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Experience working across multiple countries and culture is advantageous.
  • Experience coordinating activities across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate implementation activities across multiple grants and programmes.
  • Maintain programme workplans, implementation schedules and action trackers.
  • Monitor progress against milestones and deliverables.
  • Follow up on outstanding actions and commitments.
  • Escalate implementation risks and delays appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate engagements with Regulators, Consultants, Implementing Partners and Technical Experts across multiple countries.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings across multiple time zones.
  • Ensure consideration of international working hours, public holidays and Stakeholder availability.
  • Support relationship management through professional and timely communication.
  • Support Consultant onboarding and engagement processes.
  • Monitor Consultant deliverables and implementation timelines.
  • Coordinate technical meetings and Stakeholder engagements.
  • Maintain Consultant and activity trackers.
  • Support implementation of workshops, technical meetings and country engagements.
  • Coordinate activity preparation and implementation readiness.
  • Support delivery of virtual and in-person programme activities.
  • Travel in support of programme implementation where required.
  • Track project expenditure against budget allocations.
  • Coordinate and review invoices from external Assessors and service providers.
  • Ensure submissions are complete, accurate, and compliant before approval workflows.
  • Flag financial risks and variances early and follow through to resolution.
  • Identify risks affecting delivery timelines or quality.
  • Maintain a simple risk log with mitigation actions.
  • Escalate issues appropriately with clear recommended follow-through to ensure resolution.
