About The Position

AVIAN is seeking a Program Systems Engineer to support the Persistent Maritime Unmanned Aircraft Systems Program Office (PMA-262) in Patuxent River, MD. This role provides systems engineering and technical analysis support for the MQ-4C Triton, a high-altitude, long-endurance maritime Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform. The selected candidate will play a key role across the systems engineering lifecycle, supporting avionics and communications subsystems, ensuring airworthiness, and facilitating collaboration between U.S. Navy and international partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Three (3) to ten (10) years of systems engineering experience supporting DoD aircraft or weapons systems
  • Experience in design, development, integration, and testing of hardware, software, and/or navigation, sensor, or communication subsystems
  • Working knowledge of systems engineering principles, theories, and lifecycle processes
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Military Standards, and DoD/DON/NAVAIR policies and procedures
  • Ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • This position requires full-time, on-site support in Patuxent River, MD

Responsibilities

  • Perform systems engineering and technical analysis for avionics and communications subsystems supporting the MQ-4C Triton platform
  • Review engineering artifacts, airworthiness documentation, and test data to assess system safety, integration, and compliance with U.S. Navy and Commonwealth of Australia requirements
  • Support the full systems engineering lifecycle, including development, production, integration, sustainment, and operational testing
  • Coordinate and participate in technical reviews, engineering working groups, and program meetings
  • Manage Requests for Information (RFIs) and integrate engineering inputs into the Integrated Government Schedule (IGS)
  • Serve as a technical liaison between U.S. Navy and Commonwealth of Australia airworthiness teams
  • Support execution of the Airworthiness Qualification Plan (AQP)
  • Participate in configuration management activities and ensure engineering documentation meets disclosure and release requirements for allied operations
