VOA-NCNN, a Certified Great Place to Work, is recruiting for a full-time Program Support Specialist for our Singles Program at the Mather Community Campus.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to learn and utilize various databases.
  • Demonstrated ability in record keeping.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently while being able to work as a team member.
  • Basic understanding of severe mental health, physical health, and substance use issues and symptoms.
  • General knowledge of issues and challenges unique to homelessness, substance abuse, mental health, young adults, minorities, and people with disabilities.
  • Ability to provide a kind and welcoming environment to all visitors and a professional demeanor.
  • Valid California driver's license and ability to meet the organization’s insurance carrier guidelines.
  • Must pass all required background clearances in accordance with agency, County, State, and federal standards.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is required within 90 days of employment.
  • Completion and maintenance of all required training and health clearances.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience using Credible, HMIS is preferred.
  • Experience in social service programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct support to the Program Manager.
  • Coordinates client intake and referrals.
  • Performs clerical duties for the Mather Community Campus.
  • Compiles data for case management.
  • Manages software.
  • Coordinates daily activities of all clerical needs.
  • Arranges meetings.
  • Interacts with outside services providers including but not limited to Sacramento Steps Forward, various county departments, SLEs, residential treatment facilities, and other referral services as identified based on client needs.
  • Performs daily work requirements to achieve established objectives of the department.
  • Coordinates client intake and referral process, following up with program applicants, and scheduling in-person screening appointments.
  • Prepares monthly billing reports for the County, including internal spreadsheets entries.
  • Sets up and maintains client records, including move-ins and move-outs, in databases including but not limited to Credible, HMIS and OneSite.
  • Enters client information and uploads required documents into HMIS.
  • Ensures unit readiness in partnership with support and maintenance staff.
  • Updates spreadsheet and distributes weekly occupancy reports to County, VOA COO, and Program Manager.
  • Disseminates monthly health and safety materials, schedules drills, and tracks staff compliance.
  • Provides required documentation for client status update to Sacramento County.
  • Performs clerical activities including reception duties and answering telephone.
  • Establishes and maintains files.
  • Maintains office equipment and arranges for repair when necessary.
  • Orders supplies as needed.
  • Participates in VOA and outside training.
  • Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned.
