CAMBA is a community organization that aims to build an inclusive New York City by providing resources and support through over 180 integrated programs in Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. The SafeCare Family Services (SFS) program, located at Flagstone Family Shelter & Kensington Family Shelter, offers an evidence-based, in-home parenting skills curriculum. This program is designed for Brooklyn-based parents who are at risk of or have a history of child maltreatment, particularly those residing in shelters. SFS focuses on three core modules: Parent-Child/Parent-Infant Interactions, the Health Module, and the Home Safety Module. The program primarily conducts home visits for clients with children aged 0-5 who can benefit from enhanced parenting skills, have an open or historical neglect case, lack resources or social support, are in the Independent Living Program, are undergoing substance abuse treatment or mental health care, or have demonstrated a lack of supervision and safety.
