About The Position

Harry Meyering Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in the community through a person-centered approach. The Program Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the location, ensuring the health and safety of the individuals served, maintaining the physical site, and supervising employees. Services are provided in the individuals' homes and the community. The role generally involves Monday-Friday work with administrative hours surrounding direct care shifts.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months of supervisory experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a positive role model for staff and individuals served.
  • Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license with an insurable driving record (unless otherwise noted).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self‑motivated with strong interpersonal skills; able to problem‑solve and respond effectively in emergencies.
  • Ability to facilitate conflict resolution and apply basic behavioral concepts.
  • Positive attitude and strong advocacy skills.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Must pass a Minnesota Department of Human Services Background Study.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supportive, person‑centered supervision to individuals and team members while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Assist individuals with daily living needs and encourage engagement in home and community activities.
  • Support medical needs, including medication administration and attending appointments.
  • Monitor personal finances for individuals served and maintain a clean, safe living environment.
  • Oversee program operations, including budgeting, location upkeep, equipment, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Complete required documentation and communicate updates related to programming, shifts, and maintenance.
  • Supervise and support staff through scheduling, orientation, team meetings, and performance management.
  • Ensure safe staffing ratios and promote a positive, team‑oriented work environment.
  • Participate in on‑call rotation and handle tasks during unstructured shift time.
  • Assist with planning and implementing person‑centered plans.
  • Follow all health, safety, and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Provide direct care and support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
