About The Position

Hawaiʻi Behavioral Health (HBH) is seeking a DDD Program Supervisor to support the Program Manager with the daily operations of the Developmental Disabilities Division (DDD) program on the Big Island. This position supports onboarding, training, quality assurance, service coordination, employment services, staff oversight, and administrative compliance. The DDD Program Supervisor helps ensure high-quality service delivery, adherence to Department of Health (DOH) and DDD requirements, and consistent support for Service Supervisors, Direct Service Workers (DSWs)/Community Service Specialists (CSSs), participants, and their circle of support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a nationally accredited university in social services or a related field required
  • At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities
  • Prior experience working with participants with significant social, communication, and behavioral needs
  • Strong clinical skills, with demonstrated excellence in problem-solving, collaboration, and teamwork
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team
  • Ability to lead and direct providers, as well as give and receive instruction and direction
  • Ability to respond effectively to the varied needs of providers, participants, and other multidisciplinary team members
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to meet required health, safety, certification, clearance, and background-check requirements and maintain required certifications and clearances
  • Ability to meet all required vehicle, insurance, registration, and safety requirements
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to all service locations
  • Organized, motivated, committed, and self-directed
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude toward the services provided
  • Dependable attendance with the ability to follow through on assigned responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Assist with DDD trainings
  • Provide staffing support for the Big Island
  • Address staffing coverage shortages
  • Reinforce documentation standards and service quality
  • Assist the Program Manager with applicant interviews
  • Assist with matching clients to staff
  • Coordinate shadowing and service initiation
  • Support DSWs and Service Supervisors during new service starts
  • Provide 1:1 refresher training, in-person or virtually, with staff as needed
  • Continuously monitor utilization and schedule adherence
  • Communicate with the team regarding schedule gaps, absences, and changes
  • Provide monthly supervision to Service Supervisors
  • Support performance correction and coaching
  • Correspond regarding CentralReach utilization
  • Assist with Sandata troubleshooting and training to ensure staff remain in compliance with Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) requirements
  • Attend ISP meetings for new clients as needed
  • Troubleshoot service issues with families and case managers
  • Ensure contract compliance and quality assurance
  • Troubleshoot workplace issues with employees and clients
  • Track Discovery activities, Job Development notes, and coaching utilization
  • Ensure compliance with Medicaid Waiver standards
  • Maintain compliance with all HBH policies, rules, and regulations at all times
  • Report any non-compliance immediately
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Must provide coverage or substitute as needed when DSWs are unable to work their scheduled shifts
