About The Position

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is seeking a Program Supervisor to manage the overall community outreach and operations component of the assigned meaningful day program. Gallagher Services supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living the life of their choice, promoting independence in living, working, and community involvement. The program is built on the cornerstones of Person-Centered Planning and the mission and values of Catholic Charities.

Requirements

  • AA degree or higher in Special Education, Psychology, Mental Health, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in the developmental disabilities field, including experience in staff supervision.
  • Professional experience delivering community-based services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Advanced reasoning abilities and good judgment.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with strong relational skills.
  • Use of person-first language and thinking is essential.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills with the ability to meet/exceed deadlines and strong attention to detail.
  • Basic comprehension of COMAR & HCBS Final Rule, waiver and service definitions and regulations, guidelines, procedures & philosophy.
  • Ability to utilize computer systems and software to perform position functions.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to drive.
  • Minimum of 2 years of driving experience.
  • Valid driver’s license issued by the state of residence.
  • No state-issued restrictions on licenses that would impede the ability to operate the vehicle as required by the Agency.
  • No more than three (3) points on driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Create an environment where individuals are valued and encouraged to develop to their fullest potential, adhering to principles of person-centered supports and individual rights.
  • Teach and promote dignity, right of choice, civil rights, and reasonable risk for individuals supported.
  • Supervise the implementation of individual and general programming for assigned day program individuals.
  • Oversee and complete documentation for individuals, including daily notes, Person-Centered Plan (PCP) progress, services provided, medication administration records (MARs), and behavior plans.
  • Provide daily observation and supervision of individuals and manage daily attendance reports in conjunction with the Manager.
  • Attend PCP meetings (pre-planning and final) to provide input, collaborating with the Manager and PCP Specialist.
  • Assist the manager in monitoring safety, medical, and dietary compliance.
  • Administer medication and provide program coverage as needed.
  • Serve as back-up for the Manager of Community Supports and Day Program, managing the program in their absence.
  • Develop ongoing daily schedules in conjunction with PCP Specialists and evaluate their effectiveness in enhancing the person’s quality of life.
  • Post daily activity schedules, including staffing of groups, noting staff on leave, special activities/events, and community engagement opportunities.
  • Assist and train staff in implementing daily activity programs based on individual wants, needs, and preferences, including coordinating, planning, and/or assisting in organizing outings, classes, virtual supports, and field trips.
  • Collaborate with the volunteer coordinator to build partnerships with community organizations to maximize community engagement opportunities.
  • Assist the manager with the operation of the program site in accordance with state regulations.
  • Oversee the completion and documentation of monthly fire drills, monitor, order, and coordinate necessary equipment and supplies, report needed building and equipment repairs, and track work orders for completion.
  • Develop and maintain transportation route assignments.
  • Serve as a back-up for transportation when needed.
  • Track and schedule vehicle maintenance and routing.
  • Ensure cleaning protocols are followed, equipment checks are performed, and follow-up is conducted (e.g., lifts, q-straints, seatbelts, emergency supplies).
  • Maintain and track documentation and reporting on mileage log data for program grants and billing purposes.
  • Work with the agency Fleet Coordinator on vehicle grant documentation/billing and vehicle needs for the program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
