Guided by principles of Anti-Oppression and Anti-Racism, Sistering works to change the social conditions that endanger women and trans Sistering’s programs include a low-barrier 24/7 Drop In, Housing and Case Support, Harm Reduction, Peer Outreach and Spun Studio social enterprise, and individual and systemic advocacy. How We Do It Sistering operates on a trauma-informed and relationship-based model and our harm reduction philosophy is a core element of all the work we do: we are here to respond to participants’ needs, where they are at, in the moment, to support participants to learn how to reduce harm and/or increase safety. In addition, we recognize that their lives have meaning and value. POSITION SUMMARY: The Program Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the day-to-day functions of the 24/7 drop-in. The Program Supervisor will provide support and coordination to a team comprised of community support workers, peer harm reduction workers and other partner service provides which ensure the effective delivery of service from a client-centered, trauma informed, harm reduction, anti-oppressive perspective. In addition to the Program Supervisor’s responsibilities, this position will provide front-line service provision. This work includes a mix of meeting practical needs and supports and counselling services. The Program Supervisor will collaborate with the Director of Programs and Services and the Program Manager to build a strong and responsive network of external service providers who support the programming externally and internally at Sistering. The primary location of the work will be in the drop-in space. The successful candidate will bring a commitment to advocacy and social justice issues.
