Reporting to the Program Manager, as the Program Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading the interdisciplinary team to deliver highly supportive housing services that ensure residents maintain and improve their health and housing. Having program oversight with providing direct supervision and support to the program staff and volunteers. Requirements

• A commitment to upholding and modeling the standards set out in the organization’s Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, Code of Conduct, and other operating standards and policies.
• Post-secondary education in social work or social service work, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience (including lived experience)
• 2 years of supervisory/leadership experience in a social service setting
• Experience working in mental health and/or addictions is beneficial with recovery and harm reduction approaches to substance use
• A client centered approach, using trauma-informed strategies to support residents
• A warm, sensitive and caring approach with a genuine interest in supporting a diverse population of people living with mental health concerns and/or substance use disorders
• Strong communication, listening, interview and assessment skills, as well as critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Effective crisis intervention and conflict management skills
• Ability to work effectively in a high stress environment, work independently, be flexible, organized, responsible and take initiative
• Excellent written, verbal, time management and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ongoing learning and experience around supporting diverse individuals and communities (i.e. cultural safety, anti-racist and anti-oppressive practice, etc.)
• A commitment to interpersonal collaborative teamwork and care and continuous professional development

Responsibilities

• Supervising and supporting an interdisciplinary team of employees as assigned, providing leadership and direction.
• Conducting and documenting regular check-ins with staff and completing employee performance evaluations
• Working collaboratively with the leadership group, including Regional Program Manager and, at times, Regional Director to ensure that program objectives and strategic plans are being met
• Monitoring and leading healthy team dynamics, and the development and maintenance of positive, professional team culture. Responsive to the care, culture and competence needs of staff
• Participating and leading the staff recruitment process as needed, in collaboration with Program Manager and the Human Resources Team
• Overseeing a thorough onboarding and orientation process for new employees, students, and volunteers
• Collaborating and communicating with the Program Manager to identify and problem solve around gaps in systems and processes
• Supporting roll-out and implementation of new assessment tools, frameworks, and policy to program staff and residents
• Coordinating and performing on-call responsibilities as required
• Ensuring consistent and clear direction to program staff around maintaining and protecting resident health records
• Creating and providing a program schedule for employees
• Implementing ongoing evaluation of the program to ensure effective service to residents
• Participating and contributing to relevant Cross Regional Teams
• Leading, attending and being actively involved in team meetings and other agency meetings as required
• Keeping apprised of new research and developments relevant to your role, through workshops, journals, websites and literature, transferring knowledge back to the team and residents in the most effective manner available
• Ensuring consistent and thorough service planning that meets resident goals and needs
• Overseeing the intake process for new residents and supporting the team with coordinating move-ins and resident welcome
• Developing and maintaining relationships with community and health partners to support the team and residents in connecting to community resources and supports
• Leading, coordinating and/or participating in case conferences with outside supports
• Coming alongside the staff and residents in service planning to achieve their goals, balancing support with resident empowerment and independence
• Applying evidence-based practice, influencing policy and program development, identifying relevant and appropriate trauma informed care that promotes hope and trust
• Leading and engaging the team in creative, value-driven occupancy stewardship
• Implementing and overseeing dispute resolution processes that maintain housing stability for the resident and community
• Supporting the team / staff responses to resident complaints/concerns
• Fostering collaborative and positive team relations with Indwell facilities staff regarding program maintenance and unit turnovers
• Administrative responsibilities such as rent collection, intake, and discharge planning
• Maintaining oversight of programming that meets community needs and housing support protocols
• Developing and maintaining a supportive relationship and therapeutic rapport with residents
• Demonstrating knowledge and understanding of psychosocial rehabilitation, recovery models, including recovery and harm reduction strategies around substance use
• Providing program coverage and support as needed, as a member of the interdisciplinary team
• As a representative of a faith-based organization, recognizing and promoting the role of spirituality in personal development and providing support and guidance as required
• Demonstrating an ability to engage in self-reflection around interpersonal dynamics, leadership skills, feedback, professional practice and apply learnings
• Demonstrating an ongoing commitment to learning and supporting diverse individuals and communities (i.e. cultural safety, anti-racist and anti-oppressive practice), while leading the teams in the same
• Leading and/or guiding internal teams to accomplish shared goals specific to health and housing support
• Keeping interdisciplinary team informed of community opportunities and emerging trends related to best practices in housing stability
• Overseeing mandatory training participation
• Identifying emerging leaders on the team and engaging in intentional goal setting and development planning with staff and leadership team
• Ensuring thorough debrief with program staff for all critical incidents and occurrences
• Demonstrating creative problem-solving abilities and initiative to implement change within teams
• Applying evidence-based practice, influencing policy and program development, identifying relevant and appropriate trauma informed care that promotes hope and trust
• Maintaining a safe and healthy working environment
• Using appropriate procedures when responding to emergency situations
• Upholding organizational policy and procedures
• Attending and participating in all required training to maintain and develop new skills
• Completing and submitting required reports in a timely manner in accordance with agency policy and procedures
• Ensuring thorough record keeping including minute taking, client files, occupancy statistics and financial records
• Informing program budget and reports by being attuned to the financial aspects and needs of the program
• Ensuring information is entered into organizational data systems
• Other duties as required
